See IGSA at AGE Lagos 2026!
IGSA has once again been invited to speak at this incredible conference focusing on gaming in Western African nations. It is truly an honor to participate in this event and to have the chance to speak to many regulators from a variety of nations, all looking to implement best practices and standards. The conference will be held on March 24-27 in Lagos, Nigeria. I am also incredibly excited to announce that IGSA will be opening our GSA Africa office during the conference. More information will be available in next month’s newsletter!
2026 Membership Renewals and Additions
A big THANK YOU is in order to all of our 2025 Members that have renewed or upgraded their Membership for 2026!
IGSA Membership is on pace to exceed last year’s, thanks to the companies that have already joined as new Members and those who are currently going through the membership process. With these new Members, IGSA will be looking to launch several new committees focusing on creating Best Practices or Standards in distinct areas of the industry. More information on new committees will be forthcoming.
COMMITTEE UPDATES
CYBER RESILIENCY
The Cyber Resiliency Committee met on January 27. The group agreed to several new best practices, with more work needed on others. The group’s next meeting date is March 5.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
The committee is undergoing some changes, and will meet again soon to discuss priorities and how it will move forward!
ETHICAL AI
The committee met on February 11 and completed the definitions portion of the FAQ. Since it is a living document, additional definitions, questions and answers will be added. The committee will now revert back to working on certain additional Best Practices which were identified as required during the FAQ work. The committee will meet again in March.
GAMING DEVICE STANDARD (GDS)
Calling all former and interested GDS Committee participants! We are looking to restart this committee to work firstly on creating an updated Toolkit, and then to identify areas within the protocol that may need to be updated. If you are interested in participating, please email Michelle or Mark directly!
PAYMENTS
The Payments Committee has now spawned two Working Groups, with one focusing on KYC 2.0 and the other working on Crypto Exchanges. There is a lot going on in this committee, which continues to attract new members. The next meeting is scheduled for April.
RESPONSIBLE GAMING
After some unforeseen delays, this committee is ready to be relaunched! We are incredibly excited to have two new Partner Members joining this committee. They are the Responsible Gambling Council based in Ontario, Canada, and Focal Research, based in Nova Scotia Canada. These two new Members, along with a handful of existing Members, will meet in March to identify key objectives.
REGULATORY
The Regulatory Committee will meet again on February 10. Regulators who wish to participate in this committee should send a request to be added to michelleo@igsa.org. This committee is open only to regulators and there are no membership requirements and no dues.
TRANSPORT
IGSA has received a request from the Regulatory Committee to look at updating the transport protocol used by G2S and S2S. SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) has been the preferred transport for these Standards. However, this protocol is now old and deprecated from many systems, making supporting it more difficult. Several years ago, an effort was undertaken to enhance the Transport Standard to also utilize Windows Sockets. We are looking to relaunch this committee to look at the Windows Sockets implementation, and to update it to current Standards, allowing G2S and S2S to run over this protocol. If you were a past member of the Transport Committee or are interested in participating in this work, please contact Michelle or Mark.
