International Association of Gaming Regulators  (IAGR) 2025

I was very pleased that IAGR once again invited us to participate and speak at their conference for the 5th consecutive year! I believe that their invitation is a testament to the value they see in what IGSA is working on, and more importantly, accomplishing. Big thanks are in order to IAGR’s President Ben Haden from the United Kingdom Gaming Commission, as well as all of the IAGR Officers and Trustees.

The IAGR conference is attended by Regulators from around the world, and this year’s was no exception. Regulators from multiple countries across six of the seven continents were represented.

I had three goals for attending IAGR this year:

1. To make sure the world-wide regulatory community is aware of the work we’re doing, sharing    the value we provide the industry, and helping to keep IGSA top-of-mind.
2. To strengthen existing relationships with Regulators and foster new ones.
3. To identify opportunities for new Regulators to join our Regulatory Committee, as well as identify potential new Members from companies that come to speak at the conference.

I am ecstatic to report that as a result of attending the conference, several regulatory authorities asked to be added to our Regulatory Committee, and at least two commercial companies expressed their strong intention to join IGSA as Members.

I had an opportunity to share my vision for IGSA’s Responsible Gaming committee with representatives from the Responsible Gaming Council (RGC), which trains on, tests, and certifies RG programs for gaming companies, GREO, which conducts research and analysis on gaming data in the RG field, The Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA), which is developing applications to deliver better RG programs in online gaming, and Focal Research, which delivers RG analytics and compliance solutions, in addition to those from existing Members working in this space.

I am grateful for the positive reaction that my idea received from these individuals who have been doing good in this space for many years. I truly believe that we have an opportunity to create a collaborative coalition of great companies, to create a unified lexicon, and to speak with one voice when we meet with legislators and regulators regarding RG. I’ll have more on this vision soon!

Lastly, it was my distinct pleasure to address attendees of the African iGaming Alliance (AIA) Regulator’s Reception, alongside its CEO Mr. Emolemo Peter Kesitilwe, former CEO of the Gambling Authority of Botswana, and Mr. Bashir Are, CEO of the Lagos State Lotteries & Gaming Authority. I echoed Mr. Are’s comments about the value of IGSA’s Standards and Best Practices and the opportunities they afforded regulated gaming jurisdictions across the African continent.
