News – Letter from the President
IGSA is Growing!
I am very pleased to announce that over the past few weeks, IGSA has welcomed new Members from different areas of the global gaming industry.
Axes.AI, based in the U.S., is a returning Member with their representative serving as Chair of the Emerging Technology Committee, a very fitting one given the technology-forward solutions Axes.AI develops.
NTS Network S.P.A., based in Milan, Italy, joins the list of gaming device manufacturers who are part of our association.
TopRoot Technology Corporation, based in Taiwan, is our latest Member developing innovative hardware and software technology solutions.
Thndr, based in the U.S., is developing online true skill-based PvP games. They will be part of the new Online Skill Gaming committee, which you can read about below.
PaySafe, based in the United Kingdom with offices world-wide, will be participating in the Payments committee.
Passport Technology, based in the U.S, is developing a wide array of gaming products, including payment, automation, and loyalty solutions.
I would like to extend a big welcome to these companies, and I look forward to their contributions to our industry through the use and development of IGSA Best Practices and Standards.
New IGSA Comittee: Online Skill Gaming
I am also happy to announce that IGSA will be launching a new committee focused on an exciting new area of gaming—Online Skill Gaming. These games, many of which are of the Player versus Player (PvP) variety, are designed to be quick and entertaining. Requiring skill, reflexes, strategy or a combination of all three, these games do not use a Random Number Generator to determine outcome. Using sophisticated matchmaking technology to pair players of similar skill levels, these games present players with a fun and exciting game. This committee will work to create Best Practices regarding, among other things, the creation of provably fair games, as well as ensuring that players are truly matched based on their skill levels.
IGSA Members should look out for an email announcing this committee with an invitation to submit a representative’s name to participate. The committee’s first meeting will most likely be in late May.
IGSA Upcoming Tradeshows and Conferences
IGSA will once again have an educational booth at the G2E Trade Show in Las Vegas, and has also been invited to have a booth at the SIGMA World Gaming Show in Rome, Italy. We are currently planning for our GSATS event and will announce dates and a location soon!

GAMING DEVICE STANDARD (GDS)
Calling all former and interested GDS Committee participants! We are looking to restart this committee to work firstly on creating an updated Toolkit, and then to identify areas within the protocol that may need to be updated. If you are interested in participating, please email michelleo@igsa.org for more information!
ONLINE SKILL GAMING
This new committee has just launched and will be announcing its first meeting date shortly.
PAYMENTS
The Payments Committee has created two Working Groups, with one focusing on KYC 2.0 and the other working on Crypto Exchanges. The next meeting is scheduled for May 20.
RESPONSIBLE GAMING
The groups involved in the relaunch of the committee are looking at dates in May for its first meeting and will announce shortly.
REGULATORY
The Regulatory Committee recently met on March 10. Regulators who wish to participate in this committee should send a request to be added to michelleo@igsa.org. This committee is open only to regulators and there are no membership requirements and no dues.
TRANSPORT
IGSA has received a request from the Regulatory Committee to look at updating the transport protocol used by G2S and S2S. SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) has been the preferred transport for these Standards. However, this protocol is now old and deprecated from many systems, making supporting it more difficult. Several years ago, an effort was undertaken to enhance the Transport Standard to also utilize Windows Sockets. We are looking to relaunch this committee to look at the Windows Sockets implementation, and to update it to current Standards, allowing G2S and S2S to run over this protocol. If you were a past member of the Transport Committee or are interested in participating in this work, please contact Michelle or Mark.
Eligible Members wishing to participate in any committees should send a request to michelleo@igsa.org.
