IGSA at Industry Events!
I was very happy to participate in the second iGX conference, this time held in London. The iGX Customer Experience Summit was hosted by Clarion Events and focused on all things related to the player, including acquisition, loyalty, retention and player protection. I was honored to chair the Player Journey track on the second day, as well as to moderate a fireside chat on marrying player protection and player experience.

IGSA Technical Summit (GSATS) November 12-13 2025
IGSA will once again host our annual GSATS conference with a goal to help provide legislators, regulators and operators with an opportunity to learn about technology being used in, or coming to, our industry. We intentionally keep GSATS small to allow attendees to engage in meaningful dialogue with the academics, entrepreneurs, suppliers, and technologists, as they share information on key technologies.

RH-ISAC / IGSA and G2E
Last year, IGSA co-hosted the Retail and Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (RH-ISAC) gaming workshop at the Wynn Casino Resort during G2E. This half-day workshop was all about sharing information related to cyber threats, cyber attacks, and how to become more cyber resilient in the gaming industry. The IGSA Cyber Resiliency committee’s members participate in the RH-ISAC, as well as other ISACs, which made this event even more meaningful. To that end, I am happy to report that IGSA and RH-ISAC have secured Reed Exhibitions’ approval to include the RH-ISAC gaming workshop as an official part of the 2025 G2E agenda! I hope to see many cyber resiliency and security professionals this October on the G2E show floor seeing what technologies and capabilities are coming to our industry.
COMMITTEE UPDATES
ETHICAL AI
The Ethical AI committee met on June 25 and are adding additional practices to the current Ethical AI Best Practices. The EAI BP is currently being voted on by the IGSA membership for final approval, and is set to be released on the IGSA website shortly. It will be available to the public for free.
CYBER RESILIENCY
The Cyber Resiliency committee met on June 11 and reviewed the current status of their Best Practices project and how they can move forward on assisting the industry with their security needs. The group approved their fifth best practice.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
The Emerging Technologies committee did not meet in June, but will meet again in July. The committee chair, Travis Foley, is inviting the industry to bring new ideas to the committee for discussion.
PAYMENTS
The Payments committee met on June 18 and discussed the regulatory outreach that will be conducted to share the Data Dictionary created. The Connecticut HB 5269 legislation failed to pass. The committee had sent a letter to the Connecticut legislature pointing out issues with the bill that would have had dire consequences for gaming related payment processing. The committee also planned work on the KYC 2.0 process.
RESPONSIBLE GAMING
Progress is being made on creating a coalition of organizations working in the player protection space to define terms, align messaging, and collaborate on providing education, tools and services to the industry. Please stay tuned!
