News – Letter from the President

IGSA On the Move!

In March, IGSA announced our annual event, GSATS – Focus: Evolving Gaming Through Technology, scheduled for November 12 & 13 in Phoenix, AZ. A call for Speakers and Sponsors of this year’s signature event has been sent out and posted on our social media pages. If you are interested in speaking or sponsoring this event, we invite you to let us know by visiting the GSATS website here and clicking SPEAK or SPONSORS.

I just got back from meeting with legislators and regulators in several South American countries, including Chile, Brazil, and Peru, where I shared information about IGSA’s Standards and Best Practices.

In Peru, I had the pleasure of meeting the Director General of the General Directorate of Casino Games and Machines along with Jonathan Felix, CEO of Global Business Latam, and Samuel Osorio from CGS Events who graciously translated most of the conversation. Not pictured is Dr. José Luis Perez Torres, Director of the Authorization and Registration Directorate of the DGJCMT.

IGSA is also looking for input from our Members! The IGSA board of directors will set aside 30 minutes at the beginning of each monthly board meeting for Members to inform and alert the board to important industry issues. Members wishing to participate should send a request to [email protected]. The next board meeting is May 13, and the deadline to request participation is May 5.

Finally, IGSA is happy to welcome our latest addition to the IGSA Board of Directors, Mr. Donovan Meyer, representing Light & Wonder.

COMMITTEE UPDATES

ETHICAL AI

The Ethical AI committee met on March 18 and finalized the review of the Regulatory Committee’s input on the Best Practices created. The committee now has nine agreed-upon Best Practices. This work has been put into IGSA’s Best Practice format and will now go through the formal IGSA approval process so that it can be shared with the industry. The committee will start working on the accompanying FAQ document during its April meeting.

CYBER RESILIENCY

The Cyber Resiliency committee met on March 25 and reviewed the current status of their Best Practices project. The committee discussed some of the most recent breaches in security for casinos. The committee meets next on April 15, 2025.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES

The Emerging Technologies met for the first time on Monday, March 10, and had significant attendance. The group discussed its charter document, as well as what new and emerging technologies it may be working on in the near future. Its next meeting will be scheduled in April.

PAYMENTS

The Payments Committee met on March 26, and the group agreed that the Data Dictionary was sufficient enough to start scheduling conversations with various regulatory authorities in order to share the standardized terms and definitions. The team also agreed to start working on a KYC 2.0 Standard at the April meeting.

RESPONSIBLE GAMING

Some very exciting developments related to this committee will be shared soon. Please stay tuned!

Eligible Members wishing to participate in committees should send a request to [email protected].
