Introducing the Board Advisory Committee!
I am very grateful for the amazing Board of Directors that IGSA currently has, and especially for the leadership of our Chair, Nimish Purohit. Our Board is comprised of Suppliers and Operators, the latter representing commercial and tribal operations, providing a wide view of our industry.
However, the Board and I are seeking broader input from our Members and the Industry at large in order to ensure IGSA identifies opportunities to add even more value. This is why we have been allocating an Open Session at every Board meeting, inviting any Member to address the Board directly. I strongly encourage IGSA Members to take advantage of this opportunity and to contact Michelle Olesiejuk, IGSA’s Executive Director at [email protected] for more information.
Another way we are looking to get more input is through the Board Advisory Committee. The BAC is composed of a select group of invited individuals, representing diverse areas including Legislative, Policy, Responsible Gaming, Technology, and Tribal. I am very pleased that each of the individuals invited to participate have accepted!
The BAC members will each look at what IGSA is working on from their perspective, using their unique lens into the industry, and offer advice about how, either individually or by partnering with other associations, IGSA could add value for the betterment of our industry.
Look for an announcement introducing the BAC members and updates on their input in future newsletters!
COMMITTEE UPDATES
ETHICAL AI
The Ethical AI committee met on April 23 and finalized the nine agreed-upon Best Practices. The final document is now going through the formal IGSA approval process for release to the industry. The committee will start working on the accompanying FAQ document during its May meeting.
CYBER RESILIENCY
The Cyber Resiliency committee met on April 15 and reviewed the current status of their Best Practices project and how they can move forward on assisting the industry with their security needs. The committee has not yet set its next meeting date.
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
The Emerging Technologies committee met on April 23, and once again enjoyed robust attendance. The group discussed new and emerging technologies it may be working on in the near future.
The committee chair, Travis Foley, will investigate some of the proposed topics for the committee, including AI and tools, cloud framework, authentication, and general security. The committee has not yet set its next meeting date.
PAYMENTS
During the March 26 meeting the group had identified a number of tasks related to sharing the Data Dictionary with several regulatory authorities, working on a document related to technology issues with legislation introduced in Connecticut, and creating a work group to start working on a KYC 2.0 Standard. Rather than meeting in April, the team worked on these tasks and to meet again on May 7.
RESPONSIBLE GAMING
Some very exciting developments related to this committee will be shared soon. Please stay tuned!
Eligible Members wishing to participate in committees should send a request to [email protected].
