News – Letter from the President
IGSA has four big events coming up in Q4:
The first is our Annual Meeting, which will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on October 9th during G2E. As in previous years, the venue for this meeting will be the Canaletto Ristorante Veneto on St. Mark’s Square at the Venetian Resort. Information on IGSA’s achievements during 2024, along with a preview of our 2025 Strategic Objectives, will be shared during a brief presentation. The second event is that IGSA will have a booth at G2E! Come visit us at Booth #5930 in the Media Booth section from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on October 8th and 9th, and from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on October 10th!
The third is a Gaming Workshop in collaboration with the Retail and Hospitality Information Sharing and Analysis Center (R-H ISAC). This half-day cyber threat and security educational event is being held from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM on October 10th at the Palmer Room inside the Wynn Resort. This collaboration with R-H ISAC is an extension of the Cyber Resiliency Committee’s work occurring within IGSA. Please use this link for registration: https://rhisac.org/event/gaming-workshop/.
The fourth event is the GSA Technical Summit – FOCUS: Future Tech. Being held at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Resort in Phoenix Arizona on the 12th and 13th of November, this event will delve into new technologies being introduced into the gaming industry. Committee Updates
Ethical AI (AIC)
The committee met, debated and formally adopted its 6th Best Practice governing the use of biometric data with AI algorithms. The next meeting will be dedicated to defining terms and developing the Frequently Asked Questions companion document.
Cyber Resiliency (CRC)
When the Cyber Resiliency committee last met, they discussed reviewing and clarifying the current agenda and creating a priority roadmap. The next meeting is on September 10th.
Emerging Technologies (ETC)
The first meeting of this new committee will take place in September.
Payments (PC)
While this committee is currently paused, a meeting is being scheduled for September 25th with several payment, credit card and network companies, banks and gaming industry suppliers. The goal is to determine areas related to land-based and online casino payments that may benefit from standards.
Responsible Gaming (RGC)
This committee is still on hiatus.
